Independent Disciplinary Update: Whetukamokamo Douglas

A citing commissioner has issued a CCW to Whetukamokamo Douglas of the SAYAMA SECOM RUGGUTs  for the match between SAYAMA SECOM RUGGUTs and SKYACTIVS HIROSHIMA held on 13 December.

This is to inform that in accordance with Article 34 (Judicial and Citing) of the JAPAN RUGBY LEAGUE ONE ‘Official Match Guidelines 2025-26’ and the Japan Rugby Football Union ‘Regulation of Sanctions for Foul Play’, the Judicial Officer decided to apply the following sanctions.

■Regulation 17 (DISCIPLINE - FOUL PLAY): Details of the Incident

Player: Whetukamokamo Douglas 

Team: SAYAMA SECOM RUGGUTs  

Date of Incident: 13 December 2025

Nature of Offence:

Law 9.11 – Players must not do anything that is reckless or dangerous to others including leading with the elbow or forearm, or jumping into, or over, a tackler. 

Law 9.20 – Dangerous play in a ruck or maul (b) A player must not make contact with an opponent above the line of the shoulders. 

Sanctions:Yellow card  

The Act: The player participated in the ruck, raised his upper body, and made a shoulder charge without binding against SA Hiroshima's number 9 who was in an unguarded position, making contact with his head.

Elapsed time in match when incident occurred: 10:00 into the second half
