Independent Disciplinary Update: Gosuke Kawakami Decision

A red card was issued to Gosuke Kawakami of the NIPPON STEEL KAMAISHI SEAWAVES by a referee at the match between Kyushudenryoku Kyuden Voltex and NIPPON STEEL KAMAISHI SEAWAVES held on 21 December 2024.

This is to inform that in accordance with Article 34 (Judicial and Citing) of the JAPAN RUGBY LEAGUE ONE ‘Official Match Guidelines 2024-25’ and the Japan Rugby Football Union ‘Regulation of Sanctions for Foul Play’, the Judicial Officer conducted a hearing with the player and decided to apply the following sanctions.

Player: Gosuke Kawakami

Team: NIPPON STEEL KAMAISHI SEAWAVES

Date of Incident: 21 December 2024

Nature of Offence: Law 9.11 – Players must not do anything that is reckless or dangerous to others

Sanctions: 3 weeks (matches) Suspension (Rd 2-4)

The Act: The player made a head contact to the victim player (No. 12 of Kyushudenryoku Kyuden Voltex) 

Elapsed time in match when incident occurred: 13:00
