Independent Disciplinary Update: Ash Parker Decision

A citing commissioner has issued a CCW to Ash Parker of the SAYAMA SECOM RUGGUTs for the match between Kurita Water Gush Akishima and SAYAMA SECOM RUGGUTs held on 17 January.

This is to inform that in accordance with Article 34 (Judicial and Citing) of the JAPAN RUGBY LEAGUE ONE ‘Official Match Guidelines 2025-26’ and the Japan Rugby Football Union ‘Regulation of Sanctions for Foul Play’, the Judicial Officer decided to apply the following sanctions.

Date of Incident: 17 January 2026

Nature of Offence: 

9.11ーPlayers must not do anything that is reckless or dangerous to others including leading with the elbow or forearm, or jumping into, or over, a tackler.

9.12ーA player must not verbally abuse anyone. Verbal abuse includes, but is not limited to, abuse based on: religion, colour, national or ethnic origin, sexual orientation.

9.27ー A player must not do anything that is against the spirit of good sportsmanship 

Sanctions: Yellow card  

The Act: After seizing and lifting the left leg of the WG AKISHIMA No. 1, causing the player to fall onto their back, the [offending] player grabbed the WG AKISHIMA No. 1 by the jersey (near the collar) with both arms, hoisted their upper body, and slammed them into the ground. Subsequently, while the WG AKISHIMA No. 1 was in a vulnerable position, the player struck (pushed/thrust) them in the anterior neck area with their left hand.

Elapsed time in match when incident occurred: 15:00 into the 2nd half
