Independent Disciplinary Update: Daymon Leasuasu Decision

A citing commissioner has issued a citing report to Daymon Leasuasu of the Kurita Water Gush Akishima for the match between Kurita Water Gush Akishima and Yakult Levins Toda held on 28 December.

This is to inform that in accordance with Article 34 (Judicial and Citing) of the JAPAN RUGBY LEAGUE ONE ‘Official Match Guidelines 2024-25’ and the Japan Rugby Football Union ‘Regulation of Sanctions for Foul Play’, the Judicial Officer conducted a hearing with the player and decided to apply the following sanctions.

【Incident①】

Nature of Offence: 

Law 9.11－Players must not do anything that is reckless or dangerous to others including leading with the elbow or forearm, or jumping into, or over, a tackler. 

Law 9.12 –  A player must not physically abuse anyone.

Law 9.20 – Dangerous play in a ruck or maul.

a) A player must not charge into a ruck or maul. Charging includes any contact made without binding onto another player in the ruck or maul. 

b) A player must not make contact with an opponent above the line of the shoulders. 

Sanctions: 3 weeks (matches) Suspension (Rd 3-5)

The Act: The player made a head contact to the victim player (No.8 of Yakult Levins Toda) with his right elbow
