Independent Disciplinary Update: Kosei Miki Decision

A red card was issued to Kosei Miki of the TOYOTA VERBLITZ by a referee at the match between SAITAMA Panasonic WILD KNIGHTS and TOYOTA VERBLITZ held on 5 April 2025.

This is to inform that in accordance with Article 34 (Judicial and Citing) of the JAPAN RUGBY LEAGUE ONE ‘Official Match Guidelines 2024-25’ and the Japan Rugby Football Union ‘Regulation of Sanctions for Foul Play’, the Judicial Officer conducted a hearing with the player and decided to apply the following sanctions.

Player: Kosei Miki

Team:TOYOTA VERBLITZ 

Date of Incident: 5 April 2025

Nature of Offence: Law 9.20(b) – Dangerous play in a ruck or maul; 

A player must not make contact with an opponent above the line of the shoulders. 

Sanctions: 2 weeks (matches) Suspension (Rd 15-16)

The Act: The player hit the victim player (No. 22 of SAITAMA WK)'s head with his shoulder in the ruck

Elapsed time in match when incident occurred: 20:00 into the 2nd half
