THIS AUTUMN - 20 clubs from JAPAN RUGBY LEAGUE ONE is competing in the new competition divided into East/ Central/ West Japan
Japan Rugby League One is pleased to announce that it has decided to hold a new competition from September to October 2025, in which teams belonging to the Japan Rugby League One will compete in three areas—East, Central, and West—based on their respective team bases, with the aim of developing players.
The competition title "RISING" represents our mission of the new challenge. It is being held with the aim of providing opportunities for young players and those with limited playing time, as well as discovering new promising talent. In this competition, the maximum number of players registered per match will be 30, with a principle of registering at least five players who have participated in 15 or fewer Japan League One official matches. Additionally, there will be no restrictions on registration or participation based on player's category, thereby creating new opportunities for players to participate.
Competition Format of JAPAN RUGBY LEAGUE ONE RISING
- Format: The 20 participating clubs will be divided into three areas, with each club playing two matches against different clubs within their area (one match hosted by each club). We do not rank clubs for this competition in order to focus more on individual growth.
- POTM: Each club's game captain will select one player from the opposing team
