Independent Disciplinary Update: Amanaki Saumaki Decision

A citing commissioner has issued a CCW to Amanaki Saumaki of the YOKOHAMA CANON EAGLES for the match between URAYASU D-Rocksand YOKOHAMA CANON EAGLES held on 10 January.

This is to inform that in accordance with Article 34 (Judicial and Citing) of the JAPAN RUGBY LEAGUE ONE ‘Official Match Guidelines 2025-26’ and the Japan Rugby Football Union ‘Regulation of Sanctions for Foul Play’, the Judicial Officer decided to apply the following sanctions.

Date of Incident: 10 January 2026

Nature of Offence: 

9.11ーPlayers must not do anything that is reckless or dangerous to others including leading with the elbow or forearm, or jumping into, or over, a tackler.

9.20(b)ーDangerous play in a ruck or maul; A player must not make contact with an opponent above the line of the shoulders. 

Sanctions:Yellow card  

The Act: The player hit the victim player(No. 15 of URAYASU DR)'s face with his right shoulder 

Elapsed time in match when incident occurred: 20:00 into the 2nd half
