Independent Disciplinary Update: Kippei Ishida Decision

A red card was issued to Kippei Ishida of the YOKOHAMA CANON EAGLES by a referee at the match between YOKOHAMA CANON EAGLES and RICOH BlackRams Tokyo held on 15 March 2025.

This is to inform that in accordance with Article 34 (Judicial and Citing) of the JAPAN RUGBY LEAGUE ONE ‘Official Match Guidelines 2024-25’ and the Japan Rugby Football Union ‘Regulation of Sanctions for Foul Play’, the Judicial Officer conducted a hearing with the player and decided to apply the following sanctions.

Date of Incident: 15 March 2025

Nature of Offence: 

Law 9.17 – A player must not tackle, charge, pull, push or grasp an opponent whose feet are off the ground. 

Sanctions: 1 week (match) Suspension (Rd 12)

The Act: The player tackled the victim player (No.10 of BR TOKYO) when his feet are off the ground.

Elapsed time in match when incident occurred: 02:00 into the 2nd half
