Independent Disciplinary Update: Ika Motulalo Takau Decision

A citing commissioner has issued a citing report to Ika Motulalo Takau of the SHIMIZU KOTO BLUE SHARKS for the match between SHIMIZU KOTO BLUE SHARKS and HANAZONO KINTETSU LINERS held on 7 February.

This is to inform that in accordance with Article 34 (Judicial and Citing) of the JAPAN RUGBY LEAGUE ONE ‘Official Match Guidelines 2025-26’ and the Japan Rugby Football Union ‘Regulation of Sanctions for Foul Play’, the Judicial Officer conducted a hearing with the player and decided to apply the following sanctions.

Date of Incident: 7 February 2026

Nature of Offence:Law 9.12－A player must not physically abuse anyone. 

Sanctions: 4 weeks (matches) Suspension (Rd 6-9)

The Act: The player stamped on the victime player's head and neck with the right foot.
