Independent Disciplinary Update: Manaaki Selby-Rickit Decision

A red card was issued to Manaaki Selby-Rickit of the URAYASU D-Rocks by a referee at the match between MIE Honda HEAT and URAYASU D-Rocks held on 24 January 2026.

This is to inform that in accordance with Article 34 (Judicial and Citing) of the JAPAN RUGBY LEAGUE ONE ‘Official Match Guidelines 2025-26’ and the Japan Rugby Football Union ‘Regulation of Sanctions for Foul Play’, the Judicial Officer conducted a hearing with the player and decided to apply the following sanctions.

Player: Manaaki Selby-Rickit

Team: URAYASU D-Rocks   

Date of Incident: 24 January 2026

Nature of Offence: Law 9.11 –  A player must not physically abuse anyone.  

Sanctions: 4 weeks (matches) Suspension (Rd 7-10)

The Act: The player kicked the victim player (No.9 of MIE H)'s in the head with their right foot.

Elapsed time in match when incident occurred: 22:00
