Independent Disciplinary Update: Lourens Erasmus Decision
Lourens Erasmus of the URAYASU D-Rocks was sent off for two yellow cards at the match between URAYASU D-Rocks and SHIZUOKA BlueRevs held on 28 December 2024. This was the third yellow card accumulated by Erasmus in the season.
This is to inform that in accordance with Article 34 (Judicial and Citing) of the JAPAN RUGBY LEAGUE ONE ‘Official Match Guidelines 2024-25’ and the Japan Rugby Football Union ‘Regulation of Sanctions for Foul Play’, the Judicial Officer conducted a hearing with the player and decided to apply the following sanctions.

Nature of Offence:
YC① Law 9.20(a) – A player must not charge into a ruck or maul. Charging includes any contact made without binding onto another player in the ruck or maul.
YC②③ Law 9.10-When different players of the same team repeatedly commit the same offence, the referee gives a general caution to the team and if they then repeat the offence, the referee temporarily suspends the guilty player(s).
Sanctions: 1 week (match) suspension (Rd 3)
