Independent Disciplinary Update: Henry Taefu Decision

A citing commissioner has issued a CCW to Henry Taefu of the RedHurricanes Osaka for the match between RedHurricanes Osaka and NIPPON STEEL KAMAISHI SEAWAVES held on 21 February.

This is to inform that in accordance with Article 34 (Judicial and Citing) of the JAPAN RUGBY LEAGUE ONE ‘Official Match Guidelines 2025-26’ and the Japan Rugby Football Union ‘Regulation of Sanctions for Foul Play’, the Judicial Officer decided to apply the following sanctions.

Nature of Offence: 

9.13ーA player must not tackle an opponent early, late or dangerously. Dangerous tackling includes, but is not limited to, tackling or attempting to tackle an opponent above the line of the shoulders even if the tackle starts below the line of the shoulders.

Sanctions: Yellow card  

The Act: The player made a high-tackle to the victim player (No. 13 of KAMAISHI SW)
