Independent Disciplinary Update: Shota Okuno Decision

A citing commissioner has issued a CCW to Shota Okuno of the SAYAMA SECOM RUGGUTs for the match between SAYAMA SECOM RUGGUTs and Yakult Levins Toda held on 5 April.

This is to inform that in accordance with Article 34 (Judicial and Citing) of the JAPAN RUGBY LEAGUE ONE ‘Official Match Guidelines 2025-26’ and the Japan Rugby Football Union ‘Regulation of Sanctions for Foul Play’, the Judicial Officer decided to apply the following sanctions.

Player:  Shota Okuno

Team:  SAYAMA SECOM RUGGUTs 

Date of Incident: 5 April 2026

Nature of Offence: 9.7(a)、9.11、9.12、9.21、9.27

Sanctions: Yellow card  

The Act: The player placed his right knee on or near the face of L TODA No. 4, who was holding the player's jersey around the abdomen, and then forced the player's head to the ground with his right hand. 

Elapsed time in match when incident occurred: 08:00 into the 2nd half
